New Hire - Megan Potter

Megan Potter joins Catalyst Studios straight from Carmichael Lynch where she worked as an interactive project manager. Megan fills a crucial need here because of our exponential growth in interactive and digital media projects over the last year. With her vast experience in interactive mediums, rock solid details, and great intuition, Megan was a must have. In her own words: "I met and worked closely with Jared Lukes, now Interactive Director at Catalyst. Never forgetting the bone-crushingly awesome experience, I kept in close contact when our paths eventually parted. Over many a happy hour in the years to come, I was regaled by tales of strategic thinking preceding a project (!), stories about a design and development team that works together (!), an interactive approach founded on best practices and usability (!), and clients that pay them to do fun and challenging work (!). When the opportunity arose to work in this unheard of, seemingly mythical place, and to once again join forces with Jared, I jumped at the chance to take part in their refreshing approach to the creative process" - Megan "awe, shucks" - Jared tags: , , , , , , , ,

Carl Orders Chimay

Unbeknownst to the owner/principal of Catalyst, Jason Rysavy, the latest routine beer order and shipment happened to include a case of Chimay Rouge. The unceasing benevolence of our leader was the reason for our ordering confidence. Various members of the interactive department consider this beverage to be the nectar of the gods, and successfully coerced the Catalyst Studio Manager (Ellen, who has no knowledge of the finer points of ale) into slipping this finely crafted Trappist beer into the order amongst the Miller Lites and Coors Lights. It was an attempt to bring a balance to the beer culture within our microcosm. (All while at the peril of being considered "beer snobs.") However, at 4:36pm on Friday the 18th of April 2008, our magnificent leader became aware of the presence of this brew, and called into question the necessity of such a beer on his tab. Despite being caught off guard, Sir Rysavy retained his compose, sense of grace, and most importantly, mercy for the his colleagues. All in all, jason = best boss, ever. (Thanks for the special treat.) All our love, 2/5 of the Interactive Team Chimay Brewery tags: , , , , , , ,

Target honors Catalyst

We were thrilled to hear that Target honored Catalyst Studios with a Best of the Bullseye 2007 Award! We were selected for our work and partnership on the Art for All campaign. Take a look at all 8 spots, which were used in large format hi-def, tv, film festivals and more. Target honored 21 companies in total. Four of them were creative agencies. Thanks, Target, for recognizing Catalyst's strategic thinking, our creative, and for telling us we're a pleasure to work with! And thanks too for printing our name on the back of national publications. Oh, did we mention we think you guys are a pleasure to work with too? tags: , , , , , , , ,
